Hey everybody welcome to etrailer.com, I'm Bobby and today we're taking a look at the Yakima LongHaul 4-Bike Rack here on our 2014 Winnebago Vista. Now, if you are starting to get these bikes up on your motorhome, things to consider are these are gonna have a lot more strict requirements on durability and strength on the back of our motorhomes than our normal vehicles. Why that is We are a lot further from our rear axle. So we are gonna have a lot more kinda pressure intention on the back of these guys as they get further and further from that axle, that weight's really gonna start having an impact. However, the LongHaul is definitely designed for it. It's been tested time and time again on a ton of RVs by Yakima and it definitely holds up for a lot of reasons. more

So if you have some really, really heavy bikes this is the bike rack that I recommend to pretty much anybody just because it does have 80 pounds per bike. It's gonna have a 60 inch maximum wheel base. And it is gonna be able to accept those fat tire bikes all the way up to five inches. So this is a bike rack, especially since it is designed to behind the RVs, so if you want some versatility and you want a bike rack that works on your RV and can stand that heavy duty road stress, we can also throw it on your truck, this is a great option.So the way our bike is mounted to our bike rack here is by these one, two, three mounting points. So we have two on the top tube and an anti-sway cradle as well here down on the bottom. So if you do attach it, you can just use these strips here at the top and they just ratchet down onto your bike and secures it. You can also see how there's rubber underneath the zip strips that really protect it from those extra scuffs and scratches. And there's this nice part at the bottom as well to really cradle your bike.Now, this does come with an integrated cable lock, so if you want to use it to secure your bikes, you just pull it out from the back, wrap it around your bikes. more

Now what that means is this bike rack is built with a solid steel construction. Everything else around here is reinforced steel, so it's going to be able to hold up well to those long road trips and to those big impacts.Now this bike rack is going to be able to carry up to four bikes to and from your destination. It will have a weight capacity of 37.5 pounds per bike, totalling 150 pounds. Something I do want to give you as a little tip on is that you want to load your heaviest bikes towards the center of it while coming back to the outside with your lighter bikes.We also do have an onboard cable lock with our bike rack. more

Dustin: Hey, internet. It's Dustin here with etrailer.com, and today we're going to be showing you the Yakima RoadTrip on our 2015 Thor Miramar. Now this is an RV-approved bike rack, and the reason you would want that on your Miramar is because the axle sits far enough away from the rear on most RVs, including the Miramar, that you're going to get some sway and wobble back here that you wouldn't on a regular vehicle, and that can transfer to the rack. So on RV-approved bike racks, like the RoadTrip, there are less moving parts, it's more solid, and that's going to make a safer ride for your bikes.Like most hanging-style bike racks, it's going to hold our bikes in place by the top tube. Hey everybody, today we'll be taking a look at the Yakima LongHaul on our 2015 Thor Miramar.Now, the LongHaul is an RV approved bike rack. That's something you're going to want to look for when adding a bike rack to the rear of your RV. And that's typically because the rear of the RV sits so far away from the axle that there's a significant amount of sway back here. And so RV approved bike racks have less moving components and there's less that can go wrong.Like most hanging style bike racks, it holds our bikes in place by the top tubes, with an anti-sway cradle here on the side. Speaker 1: Today on our 2015 Jeep Patriot, we'll be doing a review on the Yakama long haul four bike rack, part number Y02476.First, I'd like to start by talking about the physical construction of the bike rack. This bike rack is built a little bit heavier than most, simply because it's built to go on the back of RVs or campers, so there's minimal to no movement on this bike rack.And the next, we'll go on to the zip-strip system that the Yakama has in place. You just simply pull the two tabs, pull up on the zip strip, and it's just as easy to replace.Now here, with the locking cable, you just simply unlock the locking cable, releasing access to all four of your bikes. Take the cable and push it back down into the pillar on the bike rack.Now, to take these off your bike, you start with the top ones. You take these off here, and then you can remove it from the anti-sway cradle on the back side of the upper post on your bike. And you can remove your bike.And I'd like to replace these, before you forget about 'em, they get lost or damaged in your garage or wherever you might be.Now, let's get a few measurements. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2005 Fleetwood Bounder, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Yakima Road Trip Hanging Style 4 Bike Rack for RV's. That's part number Y-0-2-4-7-7.Most people don't realize that the rear of their RV is so far away from the rear axle that it causes a lot of movement here at the bike rack end. With no moving parts, the Yakima Road Trip accounts for this making a nice stable ride for our four bikes. Like most hanging style bike racks, it holds our bikes by the top tube and an anti-sway cradle. The anti-sway is going to help cut down on that sway, preventing bike to bike contact and bike to RV contact.It uses zip strips. Speaker 1: Today on our 2010 Winnebago Access, we're going to be installing Yakima's RoadTrip 4-Bike Rack, part number: Y02477.This is a 4-bike rack that's RV approved, so those extra bounces and jounces that happen going down the road at the back of your motor home will allow you to safely carry your bikes without worry of damage.There's three contact points, two on the top side of the frame and one for the rear of the bike to help stabilize it back and forth. You can't take your bike off by pressing in on the release levers and sliding the strap outward. Do that for the two remaining straps. Now your bike can be easily lifted off.Your bike rests in the V-groove pads located up on top where each clamp goes. It's got a rubber padding that'll present any scratches or abrasions and help cushion the ride going down the road for your bike. Located on the top of each strap is a cushioning pad as well. more

Right here we're gonna see this little notch, and that's gonna be for our integrative cable lock system, which is gonna come up from the base of our bike rack.We simply just pull it out from here, wrap it around your bikes, and then this little insert goes right over the notch. You will get a set of keys with your bike rack to be able to unlock the cable, and unload your bikes.You simply might just have to push that back in when you're done. more
